VERKOOP VAN BEVER ZWERFSPORT AAN A.S. ADVENTURE

Holland Corporate Finance and Koomen Corporate Finance are pleased to announce that its clients, private equity fund Halder and management team of Bever Zwerfsport, have successfully sold Bever Zwerfsport to A.S. Adventure.

Bever Zwerfsport is a leading Dutch specialist retailer in the high-end section of the market for outdoor products. The company stocks a comprehensive range of branded and private label products for expeditions, mountaineering, light-weight camping trips and all associated activities. The company has a total of 29 stores (28 in the Netherlands and 1 in Antwerp Belgium) and showed a profitable turnover of EUR 45.8m in 2006. Bever Zwerfsport was owned by Halder and management. Halder is part of GIMV, which is Belgium’s largest listed venture capital provider, with over EUR 1.2 billion of assets under management. Halder focuses on medium-sized buy-outs of profitable industrial, service and trading companies with good market positions and further growth prospects.

A.S. Adventure is an outdoor equipment retailer, which operates  29 outdoor retail stores in Belgium and Luxembourg and 26 stores under the Cotswold brand  in the UK. Consolidated turnover amounted to EUR 127.3 million in 2006. A.S. Adventure is owned by investment company Mitiska, which is listed at the Euronext Brussels. Mitiska mainly focuses on investments in the retail sector. 

The transaction fits perfectly A.S. Adventure’s international growth strategy, which is to exchange best practices and to gain synergies while maintaining and leveraging strong local identities.
